Appellate and Commercial Litigation attorney at Fennemore. Can be found doing triathlons, exploring the outdoors, or rooting for the Sacramento Kings! My views are my own.
And, would hope, also means having capability of developing said talent, and developing it well. Which may be another (yet related) issue.

*Liked* for correctness. And also because “El Salsador” made me chuckle.

Maybe not necessarily a dunk, but a “yeeesh, talk about the exception swallowing the rule” sort of caveat.

Jury couldn’t stomach sandwich charges.

With that wind up, might as well have started with the ending stanzas of “Casey at the Bat.”

It’s like, school leaders: You’re “Cloud City Administrator Lando” in this scenario. That’s not a good thing. Don’t make deals. They’ll get worse all the time. If Empire didn’t teach you anything, it’s hopeless.

Waiting for Xinis to tell DOJ and their clients to start showing up to court with a toothbrush. Such an approach to constitutional rights is an abomination.
April 14, 2025 at 12:18 AM
True. Though I would think with the deference the Courts give the DOJ even a discussion of making phone calls and developing a plan would have been preferable (and better chance of placating the Court initially) to the judicial “neener-neener” they just gave the judge.

Benchslap probably inbound.

“Are the DOJ Attorneys good lawyers when they don’t set up contingency plans for a decision that is almost squarely not going to go their way?” NOPE.
April 11, 2025 at 4:48 PM
Agreed. Talk about a case causing me to lose faith in the judiciary. Sheeeeesh.

Could Judge Boasberg retain jurisdiction anyway under the idea that there is no district court where they are being detained? Seems like an important distinction.

I see Judge Thacker’s citation to your article on page 13! 🤓👌

I just mentioned the same thing. Genius way to tee up a contempt hearing.
