Moreover, it's not obvious whatsoever Harris lost for being "too left" when (1) there was a global pushback against incumbents, (2) she trotted out Liz Cheney to court Republicans, and (3) many Dem voters were upset with how Biden handled the situation in Gaza.

It's like some Dems (certainly Dem strategists) seem to think that accumulating political capital is an end in itself. They want to win elections, but not actually pass bills that improve peoples lives after.

That narrative was so maddening. Are protestors supposed to instantly forget that Israel (with U.S. support) killed more than 67,000 people in Gaza, most of whom were civilians? Including children, medics, and journalists? That's a terrible travesty, cease fire for not, and the U.S. is complicit.
