happy bday Irish writer William Butler Yeats, b.1865.

Till the stars had run away
And the shadows eaten the moon.”

If people goofed off while working from home, a big rise in WFH would show up as falling labor productivity.

The BLS says productivity grew 1.2% last quarter and avgd 1.8%/yr since 2019, higher than the 1.5% from 2008-19. www.bls.gov/news.release...

So if the goal is America First, or "Make America Great Again", all that money and resources being pulled in foreign aid from USAID is going to be redirected back into local communities to help Americans get great, right?

Hi all, We’re still here at OPM.

We have a situation where we MIGHT, and I do mean, MIGHT have four of Elon’s people blocked from the building.

Can we get press or a member of Congress down here? We’ve blocked them for two hours and they keep coming back and trying to go in.

From the man who saw the United States as a shining city on the hill. How far we have fallen from these ideals...
REAGAN: “Our peaceful trading partners are not our enemies; they are our allies… beware of demagogues ready to declare a trade war against our friends—weakening our economy, national security, and the entire free world—while cynically waving the 🇺🇸 flag.”

Is there a correlation between the number of vacancies at FAA and the horrific loss of life in last night's tragic crash? I don't know but I find it very unacceptable. www.faa.gov/about/key_of...

This should make me angry, but it made me laugh out loud.
Welcome to the Schrödinger's Cat of federal funding freezes. Courts can't block something that doesn't exist — so if they do away with the piece of paper saying it exists, but everyone who needs to know knows that it *does* still exist, does it still exist?
1. The executive orders did *not* freeze federal funding.

2. The Monday OMB memo *did* freeze federal funding.

3. OMB rescinded Monday’s memo, thereby rescinding the funding freeze.

4. The EOs (which did not freeze federal funding) are still in effect—and, for these purposes, irrelevant.

Sigh.

You can’t do this in federal government like you would in the private sector. Just more spaghetti being thrown at the wall to see what sticks
Trump sows chaos in federal workforce then says “resign within a week and I’ll give you 7 months severance.” Don’t fall for it!  Trump told innumerable contractors he’d pay—then stiffed them. He has no authority to promise severance pay. Wait him out!

Trump offers all federal workers a buyout with 7 months' pay in effort to shrink size of government
The Trump administration says it will begin subjecting all federal employees to “enhanced standards of suitability and conduct” and is warning of future downsizing.
