And here's the iPhone 14 Plus .mov video, proving handwave pursuits can be as good as rails (sometimes) thanks to optical stabilization and no rail vibrations. Cherrypicking 1000-frame brute video for the win!

I captured a 480Hz OLED with a mere handwave iPhone 14 Plus, as perfectly as a rail. I used video recording (brute burstshoot) and screengrabbed the best:

Funnily enough, I think I became your 1000th follower. Screenshot proof.

FYI, Chief Blur Buster (Mark) became 50 less than a year ago.

Other reviewers use professional rails (etc), but handwave phone camera works well in lot of situations.

What I'm thinking is modifying the shadertoy to include a pursuit camera sync track shader, especially the one with the splitscreen.

This as additional footage in addition to highspeed camera

Here's a freezeframe from that video;

The motion test URL for this is testufo.com/ghosting#sep...

It's lots of fun recording video while handwaving it; best to use 3rd party camera app that lets you config exposure to roughly 4 refresh cycle exposure (1/120sec) per video frame (for 480Hz)

Here's "out in field" video of a smartphone handwave pursuit camera on on a prototype 480Hz OLED one year ago.

While this was not running CRT simulator, you can see that the video stays very clear despite me waving camera sideways along the UFOs:

High speed video is good too.

But, additionally, one can also use long exposures + pursuit camera method.

I can add a pursuit camera sync track to the splitscreen version of the shadertoy CRT beam simulator;
