If you're looking for a reason to tune the news out a little and unwind better in the evenings, the new @bbcradio4.bsky.social #BookAtBedtime is Kit de Waal's brand new multi-generational tale of modern Ireland, which we explore through the many lives of a single family.

Listening to ep1 right now.
Starting tonight on BBC Radio 4 #BookAtBedtime

Some absolutely brilliant narrators take us through 5 members of the same family, a mother, a daughter, her black husband, their son and lastly the father, now an old man.

Hope you enjoy!

There are very few far right accounts on BlueSky.

So if you block the likes of Nigel Farage, Tommy Robinson, Laurence Fox, GB News etc. as soon as they show up, they'll find it very hard to gain traction.

(They're counting on the network effect of YOUR outrage. Don't give them the satisfaction.)

Hello Bluesky! Hoping to find all my Book Twitter pals here. For those I
haven’t met yet here I am aboard Betsy my writing office with Bomber my beloved Border Terrier. I am lucky enough to live on a houseboat island in the Thames & my next novel is a love letter to the Thames.

Given that Storm Bert is on its way, it's a little too much for me to resist remarking that my heroine's dog (and an important member of the team) in my cozy crime series for Storm is called Bert...
But in all seriousness, I hope everyone stays safe and warm over the weekend xxx

Another reason things are so much better here than Twitter.

Thread for those new to BlueSky. First of all, welcome. It feels like a safer space, doesn’t it? But also perhaps a bit disorienting initially? Here’s some tips for getting your bearings.

It’s really pretty cool that one thing you can do to support people you like is ask your local library to get their book because it doesn’t cost you anything, it helps them, and the librarian gets to know someone actually wants to read a book and not just use the computer for Roblox

My first #starterpack of "Historians in Britain" was so popular that it filled up quickly! Many of you have been asking to be included, so I've started a second one! I've added a few names from the first list just to get the ball rolling. Gimme a shout if you want to be included! go.bsky.app/8aaAtPg
