Selling the Observer is a smart idea - both the Guardian and Observer get to invest behind their brands. They will now compete for weekly readers. Daily print media is dying fast. Weekends could prevail like Econ, Spec & NS have done. Main issue is actually Tortoise - utterly forgettable content.

I hope Bluesky works. Even if it only temporarily lifts the spirits of the MSM and commentariat, this is a worthy pursuit. As Tricky once sang, hell is round the corner (hi, Elon). The only counter is to make integrity interesting and make it pay.
