This app kills fascists.
Brad Lander is a legend for this.
Lander just got detained by federal agents as he tried to escort a man out of the courtroom. Lander was taken in an elevator with masked agents, along with one member of his NYPD security detail.

HAPPENING NOW: Protestors jump barricade in NYC at ICE HQ to check for abducted New Yorkers

Much of the Declaration of Independence's litany has been relevant during the last five months but I'll just give you this excerpt today, for fun.

My dad, who has lived under a dictatorship, knows one when he sees one. His first text this morning is that we are now officially in a dictatorship. It is all pretty grim.

Please stop blaming protesters when the state forces, ya know, the ones with all the weapons and God complexes, are the escalators. Every. Single. Time.

We are getting close. The rebellion is coming soon.

I think we’ve reached a boiling point when it comes to ICE.

Today in Minneapolis, a militarized task force raided the beloved Lake Street taqueria, Las Cuatro Milpas—and the community was not having it.

Agents from ICE, the DEA, FBI, ATF, IRS and HHS rolled up looking like they were ready for war.

For those who don't know, this is the biggest story of the week. Plainclothes #ICE agents spent the day staking out an immigration court in downtown Manhattan, unlawfully detaining people who were following asylum procedures and showing up at court. When protesters gathered 1/🧵
"Eric Adams the political establishment should be ashamed, they're allowing the NYPD to be used to break up families in New York City," one demonstrator yells as she's loads into NYPD van.

Evil is not always banal.

It is sometimes just evil.
ICE pretended to arrest a 21 yo in order to force her to call her undocumented mother to come leave the house (where she was safe from ICE arrest) to care for her baby. When the mother came, she was abducted and the daughter was suddenly of no interest to ICE.

It's 2015. President Barack Obama has accepted a "sky palace" jumbo jet from the Qatari government, which he'll own after he leaves office. "Everybody relax," he says in an interview with the New York Times. Everyone does. The networks then televise the military parade in his honor on his birthday.

If you didn't see this yet you need to. We are living under authoritarianism. It's here. What are you doing about it?

We are not under invasion.

There is no justification for suspending our constitutional rights.

Every single American should speak out against this, loudly and forcefully.
Stephen Miller: "The writ of habeas corpus can be suspended in a time of invasion. So I would say that's an option we're actively looking at."

Germany once again showing us that they learn from history, while we in the US willfully repeat it.

Look, crossing the streets with e bikes can be scary. But this is obviously just another ploy to imprison minorities and the working poor, and feed Trump's illegal concentration camp machine.

This is, among other things, the whiniest White House in history.

Reminder, it's not actually about immigration.
ICE officers are now reportedly required to meet arrest quotas each day, from a few hundred to between 1,200 and 1,500 nationwide. Jonathan Blitzer reports on the mystery of the agency’s unidentifiable arrests.
The Mystery of ICE’s Unidentifiable Arrests
In early March, the agency announced that it had arrested forty-eight people in New Mexico—a month later, their identities and whereabouts remain unknown.

If Trump invokes the Insurrection Act, the courts are unlikely to stop him.

We wish there was some institution — businesses, media, law firms, universities, anything — that would save us.

As with so much in this era, it will fall to the people to protect the republic.
