Democracy dying in broad fucking daylight, as it were.
Ann Telnaes, who has worked at The Washington Post as an editorial cartoonist since 2008, says her cartoon criticizing billions currying favor with Trump was spiked — and now she has quit the paper

Everything stated in this post is a provable fact.

Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema are no longer in the Senate.

But the damage they've done to our political system on behalf of Big Money will linger for years.

Memo to Democrats: you can't win back working-class voters by following corporate cronies like Manchinema.

Trump has tapped Ken Kies, a lobbyist for Microsoft and other huge corporate interests, to fill a key tax policy role at the Treasury Department.

His hiring means Big Business will have yet another ally on the inside to craft Trump's next round of trickle-down tax cuts.

Ken Kies has a client list that includes Microsoft, which stands to benefit from the president-elect's proposed corporate tax cut to the tune of $4 billion per year.

What I always hear: “We can’t afford to pay our workers more than $15 an hour.”

What I never hear: “We can’t afford to pay our CEO millions of dollars a year.”

Funny how that works.

No, school shootings do not have to be a "fact of life."

— Gun laws in other countries have stopped mass shootings
— More guns don't make us safer
— A majority of Americans want gun reform

We do not have to live like this. No other country does.

I’ve shared with you the plans of Trump’s unelected multi-billionaires to undermine Social Security — the most popular and successful program in the federal government.

Today, I want to share their plan to gut Medicaid.

Walk and chew gum, people.
Saw someone upbraiding someone else for having a hobby while the world is on fire, and, my friends:

1. The world is ever on fire, this is today's conflagration;

2. If you don't find time for rest and joy the fire will consume you;

3. Don't let people shame you for being an entire human.

Just a reminder that in 2019, RFK Jr.'s anti-vaccine misinformation campaign helped cause a measles outbreak in Samoa that killed 83 people, mostly kids.

Do you really want him to lead the Department of Health and Human Services?

Millions of Americans — especially seniors, small businesses, and rural communities — rely daily on USPS's affordable rates and universal service.

Privatization would make the mail more expensive and less reliable — all to enrich the billionaire class.

We cannot let it happen.

Anyone, any entity, anywhere in the world can just pay him any amount (for anything he promises in return), and there's no disclosure of the payments, no oversight of any of it by anyone, and of course no potential bribery prosecution (of him) because... immune.

So let me get this straight.

If you apply for a job at a grocery store, you have to undergo a background check.

But, if you apply to be Director of National Intelligence, you don't?

Got it.
