What providers are locked out of what accounts? I keep seeing posts about lock outs, but no one is being very specific to help us understand what's happening. (Thank you.)

But my philosophy was to find a cause you care about, volunteer how THEY need help right now, then when you have a relationship with an org they can trust you to help with tech or other internal functions.

But tbh it’s rarely ever deep skills that folks need help with, a lot of orgs have staff for that. Unless it’s accounting. Such a shortage of help out there for small orgs when it comes to proper accounting.

This is really something that needs to happen at the local level, and does in many places! I had a collective in Atlanta for a bit that connected tech volunteers to nonprofits that needed them because I had the relationships with the nonprofits and the relationships with tech folks.

I have some leftover trauma from the one time as a kid I was assigned to open the cranberry can and it fell apart, disappointing my entire family, and ruining Thanksgiving*.

Ok it probably didn’t ruin Thanksgiving but I was never asked to help with food again. 😂

I’m so there. I loved it and I would not have had the career I had without it. It’s a massive loss of community for me.
