Consider the moral consequences of this economic policy. We can't grow our own coffee in the US. We need global markets for our soy and corn. Farmers -- and children! -- in both countries go hungry, if we don't work together. Even Ronald Reagan supported free global trade. It fosters peace.

Whatever else emerges in time about the Delta crash in Canada, one thing is certain: the importance & amazing professionalism of flight attendants who safely evacuated the plane in a matter of seconds.

Bravo. The editorial board of the NY Times pulls no punches in its call for Adams's resignation. And I respect the principled resistance of the Manhattan’s U.S. attorney's team.
Opinion | Refusing to Carry Out Trump’s Flagrantly Dishonest Orders
The Trump administration is trying to bake quid pro quo deal making, coercive tactics, loyalty tests and other dishonorable practices into American government.

"Superheroes should challenge us. Batman’s challenge to us is not to ask us what we’d be willing to do to fight injustice. It’s to ask us what we’d be unwilling to do. It’s to demand that we take a principled stand and to truly stand by it, even when it’s agonizing to hold onto."

I regularly teach ethics using The Dark Knight. It’s such a great film — the best superhero movie out there, in my opinion — and it…

Archaeopteryx is my spirit animal. (I like its German name better: Urvogel.) Chagrinned by my childhood error of mistaking a heron for a Pterodactyl, I have accepted that a heron is actually an Urvogel that has lost its sense of "humor".

This blows my mind. Support Alt National Park Service. They are doing the good work of protecting our valuable institutions and resources.
We’re back on Instagram and Threads! This morning, our accounts were banned, but Meta quickly restored them. The ban was likely due to mass reporting by those opposing our movement. We’ve faced bot attacks, email threats, and DDoS attacks on our website.

The only mandate in any US election is The Constitution.

Claims to the contrary constitute an effort to grab more power than was lawfully granted. Exercise of unlawful power violates the oath of office.

We must stop normalizing this conversation. There is no mandate for tyranny.

If I could give reasons for hope, then you'd have reason to rely on and wouldn't need hope. Hope shrugs at certain death, looks you in the face with love and says, "I've got you". You close your eyes, fall into her arms and, well, hope she really does. When reason fails, hope prevails. I hope.
