This whole situation has been hurtful to read and I pray for the mental well-being of all involved.

The moment I found out the root cause of my own turmoils, it was a speed run of getting proper care, tools, and adaptation of lifestyle to soothe what was once a void of unknown suffering. To use that as a shield of those negative behaviors rather than as knowledge to work toward a healthier life -

I wasn’t going to be part of anything about this situation except to listen to those who were wronged and support them, but the idea of using mental illness or trauma to deflect accountability is extremely personal to me because as someone who suffers from such things, it’s painful to see be abused

Mental Illness is a reason - not an excuse.

It should always play second to accountability and offering true genuine apology to those who’ve been harmed, and only then it should be brought into question to fix root issues and heal or acquire better tools for living.

And to not even acknowledge your victims until halfway down your pseudo, non-apology letter (and even then only brush over them before focusing back on yourself) is inexcusable
