Sensible grown up account for a non sensible grown up.

38. Train conductor. LARPer. Queer.
(I understand mobility issues, this person had already walked through several coaches, they just couldn't understand they could walk through the central split of the train)

Someone needs to tell that member of platform staff that calling someone a cow, no matter the tone of voice or context (in this case "you unlucky cow" as I was bemoaning my break at Rugby) is really fucking not appropriate. Followed up by "darling"
I would like to hand back my gender

(I made the fatal mistake of assuming I'd have a break at a sensible place, and chose to wash my hair rather than make a packed lunch today. I have regrets)

Platform staff literally saw me and spoke to me but didn't bother to tell me I had another wheelchair user in a different part of the train.
Basic communication!

Looks like I might have enough time to get some food at Milton Keynes before I go to Rugby.
Fingers crossed.

It's also a bank holiday weekend, so there's engineering works all over the fucking place, making everything slightly more complicated and annoying.

Also I have my break at Rugby where there's nowhere to get anything to eat.

people with too much fucking luggage.

I'm not really in the mood to be a human today, but I volunteered for this shift so I have no one to blame but myself.

And then there's my Friday group who are all reprobates in varying degrees, and I'm wondering how much longer I can run them round in circles before they realise...

of context.

It's kind of frustrating at times, the newbie is a bit meta-gamey, and one player is a bit too keen to get their own way on things.
I'm a fairly relaxed DM, but sometimes the rules are the rules.

But then then are beautiful moments where it all just *works* and it's brilliant.

It's fascinating watching the differences in my players.
Me and one of them have been playing for 20 odd years. One has been playing a home brew for about as long, and d&d since COVID. One has been playing a couple of years and is a massive BG3 nerd, and one has never played, and doesn't have a lot

Actually stayed fairly sane. Some dickheads on platforms, but nothing major.
Just gotta get to Northampton and lock it up.

I've just left people behind at Euston and my train is still somewhat akin to a sardine tin.
August 9, 2025 at 11:05 PM
And I've just been told the train out of Euston before me left a shit load of people behind.

Harrow and Wealdstone... Grinning and giving me thumbs up when I'm yelling "stand back!" from a moving train will not make me open the doors.
August 9, 2025 at 10:39 PM
Also there is a type of passenger, 99% male, who, if they treat their partners like they treat our door buttons, I feel very sorry for their partners.
Mashing it faster and harder doesn't actually make it open faster.

All calm until Kings Langley, where I appear to have acquired a very drunk European guy who won't take his earbuds out, and who I think wants Finsbury Park, but I'm not entirely sure.
We don't go there, but he has a better chance of getting there from Euston than he does Kings Langley.

Cheddington... Nothing, but dear god is the muck spreading fresh 🤢
August 9, 2025 at 9:59 PM
Leighton Buzzard... Nearly have to hit the emergency stop as we leave the platform as some moron tries to slap the side of the train as we move off.
August 9, 2025 at 9:59 PM
Milton Keynes... Front of the platform is rammed, yell to say the back of the train is empty, no one reacts.
