Let's have a #CoinOfTheWeek! This time around it's the 1937 silver threepence. Soon to be replaced by the brass 12-sided coin, the 1937 silver threepence has a mintage of 8,148,156; the silver threepence would only be minted for seven more years afterwards.

Most Victorian pennies turn up incredibly worn, to the point at which they're barely recognisable. This 1891 penny is an exception. The obverse is still pretty worn but on the reverse all the details are still visible. #coins #numismatics #BLSCoinClub

Let's talk about 1949 pennies. The coins of 1949 lose the king's title IND:IMP (Emperor of India) as India gained its independence in 1947. Pennies of 1949 are a little scarcer than in previous years and often show up in pretty decent condition! #coins #numismatics #BLSCoinClub

Two years ago I had only two silver florins in my collection. Now I have nearly forty. This 1880 Gothic florin stands out among them. The obverse is more worn than the reverse - probably due to the Queen's portrait being a wider raised area prone to more wear. #numismatic #coins

A little early but let's have a #CoinOfTheWeek! Most common of the George V mintmarked coins, the 1912 'H' penny was made at Heaton Mint in Birmingham, with a total mintage figure of roughly 16,800,000; they comprised about a quarter of the total number of 1912 pennies minted.

Resuming our sadly interrupted feature, the #CoinOfTheWeek this week is the 1932 Florin. This coin, a scarcer piece than most George V issues, has a mintage of only 717,041, and can fetch up to £625 in Uncirculated condition. #numismatics #coinclub #BLSCoinClub
