🌱 This was my mix cosmos patch this summer. Mostly pink. I think my fave remains Xzenia and apricot lemonade.

Beautiful! I’ve been wanting one. I ordered a bumble rumble and this is what showed up! 😱

#HappyCaturday The munchkin looks concerned, using her Susan Collins severely concerned look.

🌱 Goodbye, goodbye sweet tomatoes! I missed you already! It’s been windy and rainy again but we have some sunny days ahead.

🌱 #SixOnSaturday. We got rain and strong winds again today. I think we’re going to have a dry Monday, then more rain for a week!!! Enjoy the flowers from this summer.

🌱 One of my last tomato flower “cake” this year.

🌱 The artichoke is losing its “hair.” You can see one of the seeds getting ready to fly away on an adventure.

🌱 Happy Friday! Just about all but a few of the columnar apples have been harvested. One variety ripens later than the rest. All are about five ft tall this year.

🌱 Most of the toms are gone now. I still have nasturtium stragglers; they did really well this year as trap plants in the vege plots. I can’t do without them and marigolds in the garden.

🌱 These are the last of the Midnight Roma. Delightfully black and unique in the garden.

Happy #SixOnSaturday. Enjoy the persistent cosmos still flowering in the garden.

🌱 Im not ready for fall but the pumpkins are ready! The small ones were grown in the garden.

🌱 This will be one of the last few hauls from the garden. Mornings are getting chilly. Something for the memory bank till next season.

🌱 The dahlias are still blooming but may not be for long. Mornings are now in the upper 40s. Halp! I’m not reaaaddy!#SixOnSaturday

🌱 I have problems with earwigs this year which seemed to adore the columnar apples and have taken bites near the pedicels. What’s your trick in keeping them away? This is the first time I’ve seen them bother the fruits.
October 11, 2025 at 4:28 AM
🌱 The black cherry tomatoes are not really black but they have a full balanced flavor and just the right crunch. It’s a great snacking tomato. I hope to plant this again next season.

🌱 In an increasingly distressing world, a bit of comfort in the garden with the certainty that nothing is permanent except the wheel of time … the sun setting but rising again.

A long sunset is upon us, hold on to each other in the dark, daylight one day …

🌱 These are indeed the darkest tomatoes i have ever grown. The midnight roma from Row7.

Reportedly breed for high anthocyanin trait into a paste tomato, ideal for sauces. Semi-determinate, with roma taste but such a striking looking 🍅. I was asked, “Is that a plum?”

🌱 I wanted to see some blooms from my kitchen window so I planted a 40x10ft patch of cosmos. One year, I had cosmos flowering through November so I’m hoping I’ll have 6-8 more weeks of blooms. We’ll see …

🌱 Harvested some of the squash. Have my first Red Kuri and they’re pretty! The Lodi did not make it. The round zucchini and blanco lugo did well this year, as usual. Some roasting to do tonight.

🌱 Thats my Mexican zinnias with blackberries and plums foraged near my house.
September 25, 2025 at 7:53 PM
🌱 The blush tomato is very prolific. Ate it when really ripe and did not taste that good. Just discovered that it tastes great when it just starts to blush, with crunch and a robust taste.

🌱 Garden had a slow start this year. But caught up. The tomatoes are still going strong. I harvested the grapes over the weekend; better crop this year. The apples will be ready in another week, the winter squash in another few weeks.

🌱 Good day, Bluesky!
September 22, 2025 at 7:35 PM
🌱 This was when my tomato “lights” have started to sparkle.

The ever reliable sungold starts ripening in September and doesn’t stop till the first blast of cold weather.
