Blood and Sawdust
@bloodandsawdust.bsky.social
Woodworking with traditional tools, spoon carving, and mucking about. Occasional 16th/17th Century historical interpretation and shenanigans. Dog Dad.

Comments and questions welcome.

Not to worry, the blood is my own.

This should be particularly concerning to those practicing homeopathy.

I’m skeptical, but all your water has just a tiny, tiny little bit of dinosaur pee in it.

Just an off the wall question: do you distinguish between screws and bolts? Basically between fasteners that hold onto the material they fasten, or hold onto a second piece (nut, etc.)? Just curious.

Having spent a lot of time wallowing in medieval and early modern woodworking, I’d say your article is pretty much right on. Wood for burning was mostly branch wood, not mature trees. Less need for “quartering.” Also, having “fireplace length” isn’t so important if you just start burning at one end.

I quartered it so I could actually haul the pieces out. Still not quite sure what I want to do with it, but should get at least a few good pieces for the drying shed.

I decided I needed to fish or cut bait with this beast; do something with it before it rotted or leave it be.

I’m sure all of his attempts to read the Bible have been stymied by the book bursting into flames.

I think JD lacks the necessary brain cells for a respectable headache.

Unfortunately, Kaine is pretty much untouchable. The national and state parties will protect him.

And worse, there will be a special election on 2 December to fill an open seat in Tennessee.
