I'll never be able to achieve this level of realism when needle painting, but this person's work is my inspiration whenever I try.

Another 4-5 hours of work. My desire to make something precise and detailed is battling it out with my impatience, as usual.

Needle painting a chipmunk
In progress embroidery of a chipmunk on beige fabric in a wooden hoop. Only the head of the chipmunk has been filled in with long-and-short stitch while the rest of the body is simply outlined with a running stitch. Laid over top and partially obscuring the running stitch is a sketch of the chipmunk done in pencil on white printer paper. The chipmunk is in profile, facing left, standing on hind legs and holding a seed with front paws.

Remember to spend some quality time with the bees before it gets too cold and they all disappear until next spring.
A fuzzy bumblebee (likely a common eastern bumblebee) is perched on the tips of my pinky and ring finger. You can see the details of its exquisitely segmented legs. In the blurry background there are some purple flowers.

Working on some autumn/spooky season designs 🪡
A 4 inch embroidery hoop with light brown fabric in it; on the fabric are four different mini (1 inch) embroidered designs; clockwise from the top: a pumpkin on the vine; an evil eye 🧿; a piece of candy corn that is partially encased in actual corn husk; a pair of orange and yellow falling leaves. The hoop is sitting on top of a clear plastic box that contains embroidery floss organized by colour. Beneath that is a notebook featuring sketches of other autumn/halloween themed designs, including more corn, a coffin, a death's head moth, a jack-o'-lantern, etc.
