She's back on a higher dose of Prednisone, doing another round of Doxycycline to make sure existing worms have been nuked from orbit. Gonna be a prednisone princess for life, but its a much longer life than originally thought.

Surely eliminating the source of the heart problem will mitigate further heart damage. I don't expect a miraculous recovery, I just want to buy her a little more time.

Dorothy Jean the Brave is at the Vet's to have her heart failure be stabilized for HW treatment. Pozzies and good thoughts would be appreciated.

Dottie sees the vet Monday. I am pretty sure the vet is going to tell me she is at least Stage 3 and has pulmonary hypertension. Please send pozzies that she can be stabilized quickly so she can get her shots.

I just wanted to commend Lady Gaga for putting credits up before her set at Coachella. You know the big artists, you don't know the names of the people behind the scenes who are making this full scale production. More artists should follow in her footsteps.

My vet had already left for the day, so I went over there and dropped off her treatment plan from the shelter. Other than all this she seems fine, and I have had 10 years shaved off my life. Say a prayer, burn some incense, or just send some pozzies for my Dottiepotamus.

Dottie's all checked in. She was 36lbs on intake, was 40lbs at the vet (a week after adoption), and weighed in at 43lbs this morning! She will have another adopted buddy with her in the infirmary, and I pick her up tomorrow.

Dottie goes for the Heartworm shot April 9. I have to leave her at the shelter overnight for observation and pick her up the afternoon of the 10th. My poor little Dottiepotomus is going to think I took her back. 🥺

There is some crankiness and drama while the pack sorts itself out, which is to be expected. But right now I've got a chihuahua on my arm, Dottie on my feet, and Ollie sleeping in his bed, so I'll take that for right now.

Dottie update: She's completed her Doxycycline round in her heartworm treatment, is midway through another antibiotic for her ears and her skin, has had her Hw preventative, and goes in for THE SHOT on the 25th.

Meet Dottie. She's under the weather right now (she has a laundry list of medical issues due to being on the street and is not out of the woods yet) but she's super happy to be out of the shelter. She's also a Grade A snuggler and will only pose like she's being judged at an AKC dog show.
