Not sure what Hegseth and Trump were thinking they were going to get out of this encounter with the military leadership. In my opinion it was a BAD decision to insult/threaten America's armed forces. The reaction was clear in the dead silence/stony faces of the men & women in the audience.

I didn't believe this so I looked it up. Turns out—it's true. I don't remember many of his songs but I sure as hell remember his jingles.

I wasn't in the military but I worked with military personnel as a civilian in a financial org. that supported them. Your description is spot on. I came to admire/respect them for their dedication and no-nonsense approach to their work. To have them talked down to is cringe worthy and embarrassing.
