This is the latest update we have in the US. Atlanta United's president came on the radio today and said they expect to hear decisions on Sunday/Monday and that the next 10 days should be really fun for Atlanta United fans. All signs pointing to it eventually happening.

First bid was a loan+buy option. Id rather just keep him and hope he breaks out here than loan him out… low cap hit on the U22 tag

I’m sold on it being Bobby Wood

Lol, it’s a joke. Merry Christmas

Celtic is a feeder team for Atlanta. No questions asked

Full circle… does a 35-year-old Choupo-Moting put them in “dog walking” the East territory?

MLS should’ve scheduled all of Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver against American teams. Spice it up on Independence Day!
December 21, 2024 at 2:08 AM
He’s not a DP on Atlanta’s roster though
December 20, 2024 at 4:18 PM
The only way it would make sense it that they were planning on buying him out anyways and just saved $300k.

But still… weird
December 20, 2024 at 4:08 PM
Yep. Maximum Atlanta will be paying him is $500-600k
December 20, 2024 at 4:05 AM
Brilliant

Didn’t have that on my Bingo card as Henderson’s first move. I’m curious to see how much salary DC holds on to and buys out

You’re definitely at right to make that guess. But, I guess we will never know…

I disagree with Gallardo. On Keane, Atlanta wasn’t in the market for an inexperienced coach after the last hire. Maybe Keane is good, Garth isn’t taking a flier for this project.
December 18, 2024 at 8:07 PM
(Less experienced to MLS meaning on the coaching side)
December 18, 2024 at 8:03 PM
Atlanta wouldn’t have hired Keane as their first choice(s). I know he was successful for one season but he’s barely more experienced as a full time manager than Rob and less experienced to MLS than Rob.

As “realistic” as Gallardo may feel, I don’t think him coming to MLS would’ve happened.
December 18, 2024 at 8:02 PM
My question to people that wouldn’t like it are who would you have wanted differently from a realistic standpoint?
