Luigi Mangione's motives respecting the health care establishment, being a tech optimist, must include frustration with his own field. My position is that the accepted practices of tech companies conflict with reasonable, published ethical standards.

Read some of the comments that donors to Luigi Mangione's defense fund have made. They clearly communicate expectations regarding his motive. He, of course, can't make any statement since that would imply he did it.

Why did Luigi do it? I still think it was entirely justifiable, but I have decided that he's not the self-sacrificing altruist that his fans seem to think he is. I believe his motives are considerably darker, involving betrayal by those he was loyal to.
