Dublin, love to photograph local area and beyond. Interested in current affairs, national politics. Hoping the sky is bluer here!
@irishtimes.com this is my second day with no digital subscription- when do you hope to have this issue resolved. I miss my morning read !

@irishtimes.com I need to send you a dry cleaning bill/medical bill to recover the damage done when my breakfast came down my nose as I read Miriam Lord’s Dáil sketch this morning. Absolutely nailed it all!

This is incredibly powerful from the WHO’s Emergencies Director, Dr Mike Ryan, on the world doing nothing as the children of Gaza die.

“This is an abomination.”

Fun Tariff Facts: during the depression the US lost access to many imported paper products. They were replaced with an unusually tough paper stock made of hemp from the Philippines (then a US colony, and tariff exempt).

Anyway, that’s why they were, and still are, called Manila folders /
envelopes.

Ok. This morning in Dublin, the sun rose at 08:40:50, making it the latest sunrise of the winter. (Tomorrow's will be at 08:40:49, 1 sec earlier)

Now that we've sailed past the earliest sunset (14th Dec), the solstice (21st) and the latest sunrise, we are well and truly on the way to brighter days!

Micheál wearing a blue tie, Simon wearing a green tie. Are they trying to confuse us? 😂

Mixing my Christmas puddings now, to my late mother’s recipe. I have it in her own lovely handwriting and it’s my favourite part of the run up to Christmas, I can feel her beside me. This year all my chicks have flown the nest so the wishes were done over WhatsApp, and then stirred in by me.

My word of the day (and personal recommendation) is ‘snerdling’ (18th century): nestling cosily beneath the covers and holding off the day a little longer.

Morning.

Last of the mushroom pics for now. Spending an afternoon in the quietness of a forest is highly recommended.

More fungus, there’s something so magical about mushrooms and moss, brings me back to childhood fairytales 💝

I spent today photographing mushrooms in Donadea Forest. A mild November day, in beautiful surroundings. Glad to be alive!
