There’s no way something like this would work without our neighborhood’s density and walkability. Or without the small commercial space. It wouldn’t be feasible in a strip mall beside a 35mph+ road and behind a parking lot.

It’s the project of the current store owner’s wife. They already had the commercial space in a walkable area three blocks from an elementary school. And it seems to be a success so far. The opening day was like a neighborhood block party.

I’d say the biggest variables are the rocks depending on the source. They could easily cost more than all the bollards and paint, labor included. But they are also the best part
