Headphone listening "is a surprisingly radical invention, and we’re only beginning to contend with its implications," writes Jonathan Garrett. Not only does it isolate the listener; "it shrinks music’s cultural footprint."
How to Make Music Popular Again
The rise of headphone listening has changed us profoundly—and maybe not for the better.

Today we’re taking steps to support Coloradans who rely on SNAP. The federal shutdown puts 600K+ people—over half children—at risk of losing food assistance starting Nov 1. While we can’t replace $120M/month, we’re backing food banks and pantries.

Noem thinks habeas corpus is the president’s constitutional right to remove people from the country.

Trump?

Thinks Habeas is a person.
Q: Have you given any more thought to possibly suspending habeas corpus?

TRUMP: Suspending who?

Q: Habeas corpus

TRUMP: I don't know. I'd rather leave that to Kristi.

Odd, how MAGA couldn't draw enough attention to imaginary children being molested in #Pizzagate, but when it comes to *real* children being molested in #Epsteingate, they desperately want our attention to be elsewhere.

Friday afternoon haiku- because the news is that dumb:

Jobs numbers are down
Forget the data Trump says
Fire the messenger!

Epstein and Trump were friends
Raping children was well known
But Don’t hire the help?

Trump wants to distract
Hillary! Obama! War!
It is all a con.

Covered countless press conferences in 20+ yrs in journalism. I've seen critics, including elected officials, show up to question/confront speakers. I've never seen anything like this in response.
Here's another angle from Fox News reporter Bill Melugin of Sen. Alex Padilla getting roughed up by law enforcement after he tries to question Kristi Noem at her presser:

“I’m Senator Alex Padilla. I have questions for the secretary. Because the fact of the matter is, a half dozen... Hands off!”

Generation X debut album released on this day in 1978. An album I eagerly awaited the release of and it’s a cracker. I especially liked the song ‘Kiss Me Deadly’; The lyrics feel a bit like a ‘Punk West Side Story’ 👌

Colorado Springs people voted but the City Council feels they were to stupid to understand what they voted for. There is now another vote of same issue in a special election April 1st in the hopes that the vote will now go the CCs way. Can’t make this shit up. How is this legal?

Not only did Trump not release more water that would be useful to firefighters in LA, the water he did release was actually reserved for central valley farmers (who mostly voted for Trump) and will now go to waste instead of their farms.
