Vouchers are another way to enrich a few at the expense of all of us.

Every kid in these pictures had to work hard just to get into the robotics program. They have shown themselves to be hardworking , smart and resourceful.
The strength of a nation lies overwhelmingly in the quality of education for ALL of its members.

In states that have vouchers, anywhere from 60% to 85% of the vouchers for private schools are used by families with kids already enrolled in those institutions.

The majority of our local school system’s students are middle working class to economically disadvantaged.
Vouchers do not cover the full cost of tuition at private schools, let alone books, lab fees etc. Plus, transportation to an available school. Parents could not afford the additional expenses

The question is- how would vouchers help the kids in these pictures. The overwhelming answer is that they would not. And would in fact, take resources away from them. Compromising their future and depriving us of all they could contribute.

Ten sets of tack ready to go. Dallas Police Department has a Police Athletic League (PALs) for local kids. The Mounted Patrol Unit sponsors ten kids for the fall and spring semesters each year. They learn to groom, tack, feed and of course ride their own particular horse in the barn. Tons O fun. 😀
