Wait, what?

I LOVE THIS SO MUCH!

Thank you, @blackwarrenbooks.bsky.social and @roundgreencat.bsky.social!

I am going to print this out so I can look at it all the time!
A gift from the art department director at #BlackwarrenBooks, @roundgreencat.bsky.social, to our favorite comics writer, @gailsimone.bsky.social, this portrait of Gail and her greyhounds. She's totally fine, see? :D

not gonna lie if i knew we were gonna be living under full-blown death cult fascism by this point, i would have written a book about a witch in the alps looking for her neighbor's cat instead 🤪

For real, I *loved* this book. It's sad and rough, but it's also very earthy and direct. Galchen cuts away as much romance as she can to get to the cruel nature of courts, rumour, and the ways social structures are manipulated for personal gain. Incredibly well-crafted.
Lu: I just finished Everyone Knows Your Mother Is a Witch by Rivka Galchen. An impeccably-researched and thoughtfully-fictionalized account of a real 1619 trial. The 21st century resonances are quite obvious, and quite deft. Highly reccomended!
