In all seriousness though, moderating teaches you something. You can take the negative lesson, which is that all people are hypocrites, or the more practical lesson: all people are primarily driven by emotion and their intellectual arguments are backfill.

I have no scientific evidence for it, but I am relatively convinced a whole lot of us have the ability to identify this particular sickness in people, the same way we can identify any other type of predator.

That said, she's been an extremely toxic, near violent, jerk for a very long time. She's clearly savvy, in the CYA way. I'm not sold on her switch. I think she is just out in front of where Trump will end up.

This. Death threats taken in the abstract are something very different than receiving genuine ones from people you already know are off their rockers and committed. I'm not saying I like her, but of the things I've gone through, it's one of the few that MIGHT cause a moment of reflection.

And didn't even stop after he got convicted the first time. Because he had bought his way out of it. They just kept on sending emails to a guy they already knew was in the eyesight of the feds. Just insanity.
