Long nights road “safety”:

Cyclists: dress up in head-to-toe hiviz to look like a clown

Drivers: Sucker a 14” tablet to your ratty Corsa windscreen, right in the driver’s view

Safety is a “shared responsibility” 😡

The current state of Duddingston Liw Road after rockfall

So it can be done!
A road closed with high fencing, leaving only a narrow pavement open. A layer of thick gravel has been placed on the carriageway to absorb the impact of rocks. There is a non-recommended “cyclists dismount” sign (not all cyclists can easily dismount)

Leamington Tce closed at the top, for the nth gazillionth time, for repairs to the giant holes that have there for decades 😳

No need for through-traffic there, why not leave it closed? The 🌍 hasn’t ended, every time it has been shut!

Every bike stand is occupied by mostly kids bikes In the distance, kids cycle in a group towards the camera, taking up the whole lane. The street is straight and slightly damp. Our preferred route for this section is via Wishaw Tce, which is now bidirectional for bikes and has a new pedestrian crossing over London Rd

Marionville Rd is unsegregated though 😢 (hopefully coming soon) and there is an awkward dogleg to Wishaw Tce from the crossing involves a short wrong way…
