By February 27th, the company sent an internal memo to staff about changes to their strategy and completely wiped any mentions of DEI from their website, replacing it with language around “inclusion.”

This happened when you clicked on their most recent EEO-1 report and their DEI page:

Beyoncé broke an industry barrier last night at the 67th annual GRAMMY Awards by shattering a glass-ceiling in country music, which has historically shut her and other Black artists out, despite the MANY years of helping to build and shape what the genre is today 💐

Black history isn’t just what we remember—it’s what we’ve built. There have been numerous Black-owned products that have shaped industries, revolutionized markets, and cemented Black entrepreneurship in history and we have the honor of keeping the legacy going.

1) Conservatives intend to eliminate DEI in the private sector.

2) Even Costco, who stood firm and shareholders voted for DEI, is still not safe.

3) It’s not just MAGA boycotts, it’s litigious.

4) Robby Starbuck is wielding 700K+ followers, who are ready to rally.

The data is leaning towards no. Diverse-owned media companies get 13.4% of McDonald’s ad budget — Black-owned media gets 4.6% of that. A fraction of a fraction.

And their Black Supplier diversity spend is even less.

Both Sephora and Ulta Beauty have committed shelf space to Black-owned products. Sephora carries 28 brands, while 9% of Ulta’s products store-wide are Black-owned, -led, and -founded companies. This is equity.

Check the websites for their full product lists.

Do you know anyone in these zip codes? Residents of DC’s Ward 7 & 8 paid for Amazon Prime, but deliveries slowed by 66%—without warning. The AG says: “A dollar in one ZIP code is not worth less than another.”
