POV: You're a mouse, and you're about to have a not great day

Absolutely! Writing a book is basically controlled chaos. All that research feels like scaffolding that sometimes just gets yanked down mid-build. But honestly, those spontaneous pivots often lead to the best moments. Gotta love the creative process—equal parts dedication and “eh, let’s wing it!”

The thing about writing a book is that after spending over a year researching every aspect of a thing because it's a significant plot point you have to be willing mid-sentence to audible to "random idea I just got works better, screw all that work this is now the plan" and feel good about it

Every time I go to a public library I begin to believe again that we can create amazing things that are just there for all to enjoy and use for free.

Public Libraries can be wonderful places where children and adults can find books that they can see themselves reflected in, no matter who they are, and books that can introduce them to entire other lived experiences. Both are so valuable!
