If you ask who is likely to be more correct about the future of, let's say quantum computing, it's obviously the technologists. Likewise, if the guestion is about economic growth, the answer is also obvious - the economists.

The sellers are dominated by producers - who aren't really short since they own the asset already - they are hedges.
In a different asset class the "investors are long" thing makes less sense.
