had a really good trip to the east coast last week to visit team members who i usually only see remotely. one of the more philosophical discussions i had was (of course and not surprisingly) about automation and how far we can ultimately leverage some of the systems we're seeing built today.

i'm starting to get pitched a lot of "help educate your org on how to use AI" services. i see the potential value of this in larger orgs, but the real velocity in the space comes from individuals using it to lever up an order of magnitude and then sharing those wins more broadly.

as a founder, linkedin really is a huge insecurity/FOMO generator -- seeing so many companies raising money and moving so fast, feels like it's impossible to keep up. all i can do when i feel this way is go heads-down and focus on controlling what i can build.

i'm wondering how large of an impact lack of DPI has on the overall startup ecosystem. obviously gps are looking to be able to return capital, but they're squeezed by companies staying private longer. will there be an increased appetite for founders not explicitly looking for $1B+ exits?

A lot of times it’s better to have a language model output a specific structure and then use an f-string to create the final text blob

@anthropic.com mcp's. i now have a pretty consistent workflow for creating self-describing linear tasks based on a brief notes list that i take during calls. can probably automate a bit further, but so far this has been pretty productive.

maybe i should go into accounting. something so satisfying about going through medical claims line by line with billing departments and making it balance to $0.00

been using haiku-3.5 a lot lately after doing some broad-sweep evals. it struggles sometimes with structured output relative to gpt-4o-mini, but otherwise it's pretty great.

i get random music inspirations that i have to see through -- a self created earworm. haven't had the drive/time/inspiration for awhile, but earlier this week spent a few hours working through one based on a song my kids really like. doubt they'll like this though 😂
