I would go duckdb with either duckplyr or just the regular dbplyr interface.

Consider defining the schema and passing that to duckdb during reading it. Additionally, read it with duckdb and a defined schema, then output to parquet. Then re-use duckdb on the parquet file.

pi-hole has definitely improved things at home for me. Ad blocking is hard on mobile, this eliminate so much garbage.

You joke, but that year Dave Freudenthal, a democrat, won the gubernatorial election in WY by 40 points. Now he was a "Wyoming Democrat" which meant he was basically a republican.

I think we are a long way from anyone left of Cynthia Lummis being elected to statewide office in WY.

I think they are only ugly because the way they are presented are ugly. I think you can do them kinda nicely with line weights instead of giant rectangles, I'm thinking ggdist's stat_interval.
