Did you know: #BlueSky was invented by Joe MacMillan in the 80s - in Season 3 of #haltAndCatchFire. (And it is written in the #Oberon programming language.)

I am thinking about what makes a great icon for a compiler and now I realise: The two icons I think are best are of two programs I used a lot when I was young. An assembly language package called Profimat and the A+L Oberon compiler.

Ich bin ziemlich sicher, dass hier etwas falsch ist. Das Spiel Boggle erlaubt „ers“ als deutsches Wort und Wiktionary behauptet es wäre ein englisches Verb. Wie kommt es zu diesem Fehler? Es muss einen logischen Grund dafür geben, oder?

There is a lot of criticism. Everybody seems to dislike other things though. (I'd be pointing to the ones that have no visual connection to what they do.) But I understand your feelings. I liked it when many icons still had the hand – sadly it was removed before I even bought my first Mac

Bei all den Diskussionen zum #Finder-#Icon fällt mir wieder ein, dass Vera F. #Birkenbihl auf dem Umschlag zu ihrem Buch über Kommunikationstraining eine Hommage an das Symbol (das seinerseits eine Hommage an #Picasso ist) verwendet hat.

I like how #macOS26 allows you to make all icons monochromatic. There are many programs that have the most intense colours that clash with the neighbouring icons in the dock. I need this option for my Windows desktop at work, too. The cluttered mess would at least *look* more professional.

The result is great, but .. Blender? Really? This shouldn't be more than 30 frames, right? I would have used perspective mode. Unfortunately programs like PyDpainter still miss that feature.

My site has changed a lot over the years. I am working on a new version based on #HUGO. It will be using a modified version of the HUGO.386 theme (lower right). The idea is to keep it really simple so that I don't need much time to keep it updated.

Für mich sind Syntaxdiagramme effektive Hilfsmittel, um schnell die Syntax einer Sprache zu überprüfen. (Wenn man sie auf die richtige Weise zeichnet.) Ich erstelle derzeit welche für #Oberon, weil ich an einem Compiler schreibe. #Informatik #programming #CompSci

I wonder if the artwork on your box was a hurried redesign for the international market, because the artwork that was used in all promotional material during the day was superior in every aspect.
