Ears hear “vermillion”, brain thinks “green”. Eyes see vermillion, brain says, no, that’s not right.

Well she really wasn’t into the new age stuff or religious stuff. She was more contorting pop-psychology/Dr Laura into fitting her worldview lol. I guess my point was I feel your pain. Most of us GenX raised ourselves and many also raised our siblings and it kinda sucked.

I remember when my mom learned about codependency. She thought this was someone who’s “too dependent”. So she gave me more responsibility to be sure I wouldn’t be “codependent” on her. I was 11 & after school I had to stop at the day care, pick up & walk my 6 yo sister home & watch her.

And that’s just how we do. Good job, Mom!

The weirdest part I think is where this grown human being whose face you still picture as this silly, smart-ass 4-year-old kid starts opening up about adult problems they’re having but you’re not allowed to set anything on fire to fix it for them. That part is the hardest. 😂

They started moving out in 2012 & finished around 2022. It’s been REALLY hard each time, but the last one was my only daughter & she’s baby lol so that move was SUPER tough. But honestly, it’s been alright. They all still call all the time & we still get together a lot. I’m adjusting, I guess.

All 5 of mine have been moved out for the past year now. Empty nester here, too.
