I miss her so much. It’s astounding how effortlessly she filled my life and how so many moments throughout the day are left feeling empty now she’s gone. New little reminders crushing me throughout every day since.

A ‘how it started/how it’s going’ phd update. (This penultimate draft print out is very heavy lol). 2016-2025 damn.

It’s a pretty big stack of paper but they seem to be able to hold it up in front of the camera without issue. Their hair is long and in a side plait. A picture of Jess holding the penultimate draft of their PhD dissertation at the end of June 2025 prior to doing one last read through before submitting it in about ten days. You can’t quite tell by the photo but it is MANY pages longer than the application stack and they are struggling to hold it up to the camera. Their hair is shorter now, just above shoulder length.

Marlon Williams was so joyous and beautiful last night in Naarm. Exactly what my sister and I needed. Ngā Mātai Pūrua were the perfect support and additional members to the band! Heart still feels full this morning.

Got to see (literally!!! See with my eyeballs even colour!!!) the Aurora australis last night on Boon Wurrung Country. Sky looked like it was bruised and then huge pillars of red wine shot up into the sky! Very cool! I wonder if this is what ‘wine dark sea’ was referring to?

Can’t stop thinking of the extremely liminal vibes at northland last night
The landing area for the Hoyts cinema at northland in preston. There are two escalators that are lit leading to a darker landing where three large movie posters hang. A globe with huge letters saying ‘hoyts’ hangs from a circular ceiling. Black and white pillars hold up the roof. Strange sources of light come from behind the pillars. There is not a soul in sight.

Thoroughly enjoyed reading this collection ed. by @clembastow.bsky.social (content warning for dog death though which I’m not able to acknowledge at the moment) and recommend it to anyone looking for autistic co-validation or anyone who loves an autistic person and wants to know the culture better!

The weather is finally cool enough for me to wear my new favourite outfit and be a delightful menace at family occasions.
