Agreed in full re behaviours. Odd thing is Butcherbirds (or murderbirbs as I call them) aren’t ‘infamous’ for swooping. This guy’s a juve. He’ll work it out. 😎

I was spotting the bird closely. I knew it was about to swoop my dog who was walking with my wife some 20m ahead. Here is the previous frame: launch mode activated.

They are Kingfishers and, yes, they predate - kill snakes for funsies. Excellent rodent controllers.
