Great the results are now published. Showing that just a small % of #Mozambique ‘s coast is globally significant wader conservation… and nearly 1/2 the 3000km coastline is essentially unsurveyed.

The analysis showed a hybrid origin of Nechisar Nightjar - a cross between a female Standard-winged Nightjar and, most likely, a male Freckled Nightjar 😮

The analysis showed a hybrid origin of Nechisar Nightjar - a cross between a female Standard-winged Nightjar and, most likely, a male Freckled Nightjar 😮

Described in 1995 on the basis of a single wing of roadkill found in the Nechisar National Park, Ethiopia, in 1990, it has eluded rediscovery. Caprimulgus solala = 'one wing'.

Described in 1995 on the basis of a single wing of roadkill found in the Nechisar National Park, Ethiopia, in 1990, it has eluded rediscovery. Caprimulgus solala = 'one wing'.
