So sorry to learn the news of the passing of Prof. Derek Pomeroy. A huge influence for good throughout his life as an expert ornithologist in Uganda, a mentor and wonderful company too. Go well Derek... #RIPDrPomeroy

Great to find a raft of 14 Short-tailed Shearwaters loafing and feeding around shore fishing nets at Sonadia Island, Bangladesh on Global Big Day. 3rd or 4th record for the country and first not storm-blown. So confident one of them pinched part of my breakfast! #globalbigday

Lots of Blyth's Reed Warbler coming through Dhaka in last few days. Hard to find as they skulk in the tree canopy but often given away by often quite loud subsong #ornithology

It's a wrap for 2024 NFCs in Dhaka. Now have 18 months' data from this fabulous piece of kit. All I need now is a budding Bangladeshi research student willing to wade through it all - any offers? Is there a Nocturnal Flight Calls BlueSky starter pack in the offing? #ornithology

ere you go... shame it doesn't take into account citations as this gives heavy bias to recent titles on bird records and id, rather than earlier work which is more conservation orientated
