I just finished up my #Ork squighog Boyz. I didn't know why I felt the need to go all out on every part of them when I have so much left for this army, but good God they were satisfying. #warhammer40k

I love the idea of the #deathwing having a different color scheme to the rest of the #darkangels. While my marines are a cool black, I used this knight that I've had sitting around to test out a similar idea. I really liked the outcome of the red and gold. #minipainting

#Minipainting a single model using a prechosen color scheme can be nice for breaking the decision paralysis. However, it can also be an inspiration for a future army. I've been considering building some #genestealercults and this scheme would be pretty slick.

This year, my friends and I are doing a #Warhammer40k escalation league to 1500 points. We've split the year into 4 equal quarters. January to March was to complete a #combatpatrol, 750 points by the end of June, 1125 by end of September, and 1500 by end of year. I chose #orks and here they are!
A unit of Ork Boyz painted as bad moons. A deff dread and warboss model painted as goffs. They are all on swamp bases with green rims and fluorescent mushrooms. A unit of Ork Boyz painted as evil sunz, and a unit of deffkoptas painted one each as an evil sun, bad moon, and death skull. The entirety of the Ork combat patrol displayed. It contains two units of Ork Boyz, a unit of deffkoptas, a deff dread, and a warboss in mega armor.

The #imperialagents boxes are the perfect option to do tons of different palettes in one group. So many individuals, and the colors can spark their own stories. As always, #colorcube comes in clutch.

I, like every forever DM, have many unpainted minis long forgotten by players that left them gray. As a break from painting my Ork army, I figured I should paint up their most historically relevant natural predator, the fantasy dwarf. #minipainting

The evolution of my #spacemarine infernus sergeant, the first mini in the get started box. I painted them "kinda like" black templars. Now that I've gotten a little over a year of #minipainting under my belt, and my own lore for my chapter, I finally like looking at my marines.
A primaris infernus marine sergeant painted loosely like a black templar. It is painted black and dry brushed with metallics. The shoulder pads are plain white with red borders. The base is plain and black. Four infernus marine models, including the same sergeant, now with head instead of a helmet. These are painted in a heavy metal style using green tones for black highlights. The shoulder pads are now black and rimmed with red, and bare the heavy fire marking on their right, and a stylized golden fleur de lys on their left. All the heads off the models are 3d printed female head sculpts. The original infernus marine sergeant model painted in a traditionally 'Eavy Metal style using desaturated blue grays as black highlights. The shoulder pads are still black but now have different rims. The right shoulder pad is rimmed in violet which matches lettering on shoulder pad. The left shoulder pad is rimmed in black. The chapter symbol on the Left shoulder pad is also different. The base looks like grass with a most rich. The base rim is painted glossy black with the name, "Brinna" written on it. An alternate angle of the latest iteration of the infernus sergeant model giving a better view of the new chapter symbol, a shield over an inquisitorial insignia, all in crimson.

A while back, some #minipainting youtubers introduced me to the color cube. As someone who struggles to come up with neat schemes, it has been pretty nice to get some proper color guidance. It also helps make my imperial retinues nice and unique!
Color cube card number 043. It is a color scheme consisting of burgundy, red, white, pink, and magenta. It utilizes a picture of Valentine's Day heart candies as a reference image. They weren't lying. Painting #grimdark is way different than my normal method.
An infernus space marine painted in a grimdark style. The armor is meant to read as black but reads as moderately blue. The armor is speckled with rust effects and the weapons and brass elements are washed with teal verdigris.
