So I've been having a problem with a neighbours cat and despite my best efforts the bastard has still managed to get onto my outbuilding and take a prospecting Swift. When are owners going to take some responsibility for their pets, that constantly decimate our wildlife

Did you know that hares can legally be shot in the breeding season in England and Wales, leaving young leverets to starve to death? It's estimated we've lost 80% of the brown hare population. Scotland already has a close season. Please sign the petition: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/72...

It couldn't possibly be that the fact that the senior non-exec on Defra board is a grouse moor owner has some influence markavery.info/2023/07/27/n... and markavery.info/2023/07/28/t... - or could it? Heather Hancock's entry on Defra website still does not make clear her link to grouse shooting.

The Eaton Estate claims to conserve wildlife, but its management serves one purpose: shooting. Grouse, pheasants, and partridges are raised and released only to be hunted. Meanwhile, native species like foxes are caught in snares or persecuted in the name of "conservation."
