I know ticket sales account for only a third of MLB team revenue, but if you paid Juan Soto's average per-game salary out of home gate receipts, you'd need to charge $17 per ticket just to pay Soto (assuming 3 million tickets sold per season).

I’d been to games at Busch Stadium before, but the one on June 6, 1970, was the first that stuck with me. It was bat night, which meant not only would I get new lumber to swing, but also that my dad could bribe enough kids out of their bats to equip our Little League team. (1/8)
