My homage to the classic spiderman meme is on the cover of the November edition of Trends In Parasitology! The cover spotlights an article by Lucas C. de Sousa-Paula, who discusses the taxonomic status of "Lutzomyia longipalpis".

Another animation post. Most of what I do is vector based illustration with the occasional more fully rendered photoshop piece; however once in a while I also get to work on animation projects. Here's a demo reel featuring a few of those from the last few years.

A complex render of flaviruses invading the midgut epithelium of the deer tick (Ixodes scapularis). Might make a good screen saver for a vector biologist.

An illustration that I created depicting the route of transmission of alphaviruses in mice and a comparison of different antibody therapies. SKT05 stops viral budding in the nasal cavity and SKT20 suppresses chemokines and cytokines during brain infection.

My process for my recent cover for Trends in Parasitology. Originally I had hoped to change the journals branding to reflect the comic aesthetic but they understandably were unable to do so. Featured is my aspirational cover and my base sketch.

Proud to have have illustrated this review in Trends in Parasitology. This is some of the excellent work done at NIAID to push scientific knowledge forward: bsky.app/profile/cp-t...

My failed cover submission to Nature spotlighting the recent discovery of the structure of "bad cholesterol" or LDL (I think they chose an image of dinosaurs instead) and my cover drafts. Mutations in LDL cause a buildup of plaque in arteries and heart disease.

Just published figure in the textbook "Marburg Virus: Methods and Protocols". Rendered in Cinema 4D and Octane, Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. All of the models were created by hand (with a computer mouse)from photo reference.
