I will say this is a very funny thing to cite because anyone actually from Texas and not some slob from central California cosplaying as a "real American" knows kolaches are incredibly Texan and, specifically, Texan kolaches are not not actually Czech kolaches and haven't been for over a century.

playing with BLAST today. pseudogene copies of the meiotic drive gene behind Abnormal chromosome 10 in maize vary widely across lines. Pseudogenes produce siRNA that targets the Ab10 drive gene. Proposing to do crosses with Jonathan Gent at UGA to see if we can epigenetically silence meiotic drive.
