Unfounded claims from rags like this seems to be the reason Labor ignored calls from over 100 experts to push through their new Schedule 5 law.

(The 'sore tooth' was what some unnamed relative remembers Freeman mentioning in the past.)

A law purely designed to counter tabloids

Today I was driving behind a ute with a P-plate and 2 stickers on the back window of a symbol (I now know is) called the Jerusalem Cross. Not surprised at all that, when I googled it, I found it's been appropriated white supremacists. But jeez, this stuff didn't used to be so overt. Right?!

Hello, to the spider who lives in my car's side mirror, and whose webs I keep destroying over and over again. I don't usually get to see you in person.

Watching Smoggie Queens on Binge. Only one episode left. Have enjoyed it so far and glad to see they got a 2nd season.

"The J.K. Rowling Women's Fund"

Focusing on transgender people, specifically.

Worth remembering that there are still people out there who don't know how much money she has put into changing laws in the UK.
At least it will be a bit simpler now to just point them to this...

Just saw a Coles truck with a huge Progress Pride flag on the side. I drove after it just so I could get a pic 😆

In case you didn't know that Andrew Hastie is a former soldier, this Guardian article repeats it twice in 2 paragraphs.
Or, attempts to. "Solider"?

"suspended for not turning up to meetings they were never told about"

For me, after missing the appt & getting a text saying 'get in touch or your payment could be suspended', I was prompted to rush in & quickly sign a new Job Plan. It had things we hadn't discussed & I hadn't agreed to.

Treated myself to the box set of Rosehaven, so I don't have to rely on streaming services to watch it.

I should never buy Vege Deli Crisps. Apart from being overpriced chips, I can't stop eating them! Most of the packet gone in one sitting. Already feeling slightly dehydrated from the 3 or 400 grams of sodium.
Alas, it won't be the last time..

From Amanda Rishworth in 2023.

(And, no, it is not "responsibile" to keep people trapped in poverty.)

This guy is a real piece of work. Offered his services to the dept of Immigration to write a $30k report accusing real researchers of being "advocates primarily and researchers secondarily" in relation to asylum seekers in detention.

I understand websites need to make money & can't just provide info without ads, but I'm not loving this new thing where an ad suddenly covers a huge chunk of screen & continues for, what seems like, half of the article.

Loving this photo from Yahoo Finance from their "Cash boost" article about the latest indexation to Centrelink payments.
Someone has taken out $900 in cash!! (Presumably so they can then go put it back in their account & pay a few bills.)
Why can't they ever show someone holding up, like, $12.50?

This Chumps List let's you filter your search by Education, Arts, Community, Journalism, Health, Conservation, etc.

Really disturbing to learn about the 'Chevron Nature in Focus Photography Competition!' boasted by Conservation Volunteers Australia.

It might be from 'Harnessing data and digital technology' Inquiry interim report.
Page 105 has the "$4300 per capita".
I'm not even going to understand it, though.

See, if we still had dvd rental stores, you can bet that I'd be able to rewatch Mermaids on a whim (just bcos I got thinking about the finger food Cher's character makes her kids).
As it is, I'll need to wait till I eventually cycle through to the relevant streaming service.
