Ack, this could have happened to anyone, and it happened to the Tribune. Anyway, as of posting he aten't dead yet. To quote Mark Twain:

There will be no additional charge for this joke, except to
parties requiring an explanation of it.

Ringu has the worst follow-ups, including (and perhaps especially) the execrable and unaccountably praised US remake.

Kisapmata was my favorite first watch this year. Wish I'd seen it sooner. RIP Mike de Leon.

Now watching: the 1973 joint "The Legend of Hell House," screenplay by Richard Matheson the GOAT and starring Roddy McDowall. Starts with this bit of ridiculousness so I have high-ish hopes.

Whatever one may feel about US imperialism, being happy about anything Trump & Musk are doing without acknowledging the actual evil and venality behind it and the actual consequences of their actions is stupid at best. Done with this guy.

It's easy to choose who to vote for. What's harder is to pick the 12 absolute worst options on this list. I've narrowed it down to 14. I have to remove two to finish this depraved exercise I've imposed on myself. Hay.

RIP Olivia Hussey. Rewatching Black Christmas, one of the earliest and best slashers, and one of the gloomier ones. Some people will insist the 2006 remake is as good or almost as good as the original; they are wrong. It's not even close. And the 2019 one is an utter disaster.

Bluesky loves this image way too much. I'm sick of seeing it on my feed. History "belongs to all of us" and it's written by a bunch of white English colonizers. Stop it!
