Mark, I appreciate many of your viewpoints. But you miss the mark on this one. It takes an amazing amount of privilege to argue against a system proven by other industrialized countries to raise the median level of health care in a way that’s easy for citizens to understand.

You’re speaking a lot of truth. I do think the industry encourages artists to take fewer risks. There’s only so much you can do with a 3:30 song length. There’s only so much you can do with 3 chord songs in 4/4 time. Songs now tend to be based on 4 bar or 8 bar phrasing. Why not 5, for instance?

Recently a GenZer on a Discord commented on a post of mine by linking in a band she likes. The band was great and would have fit well in the Art Rock scene. I complimented her choice and mentioned that the song had a Jethro Tull-like voicing in it. She was excited to explore JT.
