The edit was stupid - though it did comport with Trump's message to take the fight to the Capitol. It was unnecessary, there was more than enough recordings of Trump without stitching material together. But as a public figure he has less rights under defamation and apologising will please the court

This is I think one of the key parts of the current "what's wrong with men today". Adapting to a polite and respectful form of communication that acknowledges others as equal gets to the millennia old right of men to be assholes at leisure and endure no censure.
