Excited and thankful to announce that our lab received its first NoA for an R35 MIRA award from NIGMS! This funding will support research focused on dissecting the biophysical mechanisms of AKT activation that are dysregulated in disease. Grateful for an awesome team and community at UAB.

Excited to highlight the first pre-print from my lab on bioRxiv! We used live-cell NanoBRET target engagement assays to measure ATP-competitive and allosteric AKT inhibitors binding to all AKT isoforms.

Live-cell NanoBRET assay to measure AKT inhibitor binding to conformational states of AKT
AKT is the main protein kinase of the PI3K-AKT pathway, interacting with over one hundred protein partners to facilitate cellular processes that allow cancer cells to survive and proliferate. It is an...

Proud to introduce my lab! Our group studies protein-protein interactions in the PI3K-AKT pathway using BRET and structural biology-based approaches. We aim to visualize the interactions of AKT with its protein partners and understand how AKT inhibitors influence the formation of those interactions.
