That one's not a problem with cats, who are always interacting with non-obvious things.

The weakest moment of Trump's second term - so far!

It's gloomy weather, on-and-off raining. We did see a feral cat at the park today, along with more jackrabbits than usual.

Saw a great blue heron today in Northern California.
The usual geese, crows, pigeons, jackrabbits, ground squirrels.
Coots and cormorants are starting to come back. #bird
Also raccoons and a coyote 🦊this past week, and feral cats.

"The Crying of Lot 249", in which the Thurn&Taxis conspiracy are throwing mummies into bins labeled W.A.S.T.E. as an attack on Silent Trystero's Empire, a somewhat cheesy horror story.

I assume that must be a 170-something-mile pipeline,
or a 17-mile underwater piece near the end of a land-based pipeline, because otherwise there's a small matter of NJ and NYC being in the way?
Otherwise it only works on this map :-)

I've heard that before. And yes, there are times that marginal costs of electricity are low, if you're using capital equipment like solar panels and windmills instead of consumable fuels.
But Australia has about 10x as much land per person as the US,
so solar's especially good there.

The paperback version I had wandered off long ago,
but I think it was the same cover design as the ebook I have.

I know @tkingfisher.com, Kevin Sonney, and crew went to Tibet a few years back, not sure if they also got to Nepal.

They should've done the hippo thing, though!
(There was a real proposal to do this, and @sarahgailey.bsky.social has turned it into your go-to book for hippo-riding cowgirl Western action.)

Yes. Oh, and right, there's a big Korean grocery that just opened in East Palo Alto; I've been meaning to check it out.

(With regular pancakes, the waffle pattern looks best of the giraffe, mid on the lion, silly on the elephant; I usually make half-cornmeal pancakes.)

I'm sorry, WHAT? Maybe they can match me by fingerprints from the security clearance I had in the 80s, and maybe a face match from my 20-year-old passport, back before my hair was gray, but that's highly unlikely. My DL's not a citizenship doc.

"Looks kind of like THIS illegal alien"?? Nope.

He used to same IQ test his fellow right-wingers prefer.
Presidents often go to Walter Reed for medical care, because it's got lots of doctors and specialists, as well as ICU-level monitoring (hard to do at home) and MRIs, Cat Scanners, and such.

Experiments like that often produce dismembered heads,
which are often but not always the ones that belong on the pikes
(or fed to pikes; YMMV.)
(TIL that the pike fish is named for being pointy like the weapon.)

Trump going to need to get ballroom construction going fast,
at least with frame and outer walls up and painted,
or spend the rest of his term looking like an incompetent loser in ways that even his base can see.

What vaccine WAS it?!

(This one was about the mRNA Covid vax stopping cancers, though there are others that prevent specific sets of cancers, e.g. Gardasil blocking HPV infections and related cancers.)
