You know things are utterly FUBAR in the US when @bellingcat.com is doing satellite imagery analysis of the White House.
New satellite images show the scale of demolition that has occurred on the East Wing of the White House in less than a month.

Fair play to @brianleddin.bsky.social. The sight of the mainstream left in this country rolling in behind Catherine Connolly is as depressing as any bad election result. Good to see we still have a few principled voices.

Catherine Connolly is the crank candidate. Her trip to Assad's Syria should be enough to disqualify her. The Gemma O'Doherty stuff just puts a hat on it.

One takeaway from the comments on that petition: we hand out Irish passports waaaay too freely to American gobshites when we should be fast-tracking the folks in direct provision who actually want to contribute to this country.
At least he's finally admitting that he can't actually get nominated

@ivanabacik.bsky.social You're endorsing Catherine Connolly now? I've voted Lab for 25 years. Never again. You're a disgrace. I'm disgusted.

New, from me: Elon Musk talks about saving our species. But the greatest legacy of his time in government will be to condemn millions to death because he could not discern reality from a paranoid fantasy.

Last week it was announced that Ireland will support plans to extend the protection to 2027, but Sinn Féin say this is a “mistake”.

For about a year, I worked with a retired British academic named Alasdair Spark to solve a mystery: where did the original photo from the end of The Shining come from, and where/when was it captured?
Last week, we finally found the answer.
